In this article, we will examine the “school-family-community” approach with respect to the integrated approach described in new practices of public management and their associated methods of interventions. On the base of an exploratory research about the School Health Approach, linking public health and education, we have been exploring the unique aspects of an emerging profession: the Agent pivot. After detailing the characteristics of this profession, we will expose how the implementation of an integrated approach in different local environment can by no means be downsized to the sole acts of agents. It must rather be seen as the result of ongoing dynamics that evolve following the type of situations in which the various actors of the process are involved.

This paper investigates the set of factors which influence the likelihood of employee shareholders representation on the board of directors. We suggest that the lower the level of CEO's entrenchment, the higher the likelihood of employee shareholders representation on the board of directors, because employee shareholders' representatives are deemed to be passive directors and loyal to the CEO. In contrast, we suggest that board of directors' capacity to resist CEO's entrenchment, which is determined by boards' composition and structure, reduces the likelihood of employee shareholders representation on the board of directors. Empirical analysis drawn from a longitudinal sample of French firms provides strong support for these hypotheses.

The meat industry, being confronted to the economic crisis, goes on concentrating. Firms develop volume strategies and try to diversify their production in order to reinforce their efficiency on a rather stagnating and keenly competitive market. In terms of industrial and financial development, groups first insist on external growth and internationalisation. Small and middle-sized firms which are deeply rooted in local production networks are looking for micromarkets. Supermarkets, and more generally downstream pressure is now stronger on the meat products channel: processing industries specialise, finished products and new products present a high safety and hygiene quality. SMEs must anticipate on this industrial dynamic for which the constraints are more and more pressing.

The aim of this text is to analyze the emergence conditions of a “PME de terroir” strategic group in the agrofood system. The “terroif products positioning compared to other food products is based on the notion of quality. The recent crisis which have shaken the agrofood system (ESB, hormones, OGM...) reveal the primary role of trust in product buying. Trust may be linked to reputation, history, cultural heritage. In this case product and firm identities are indissociable. In spite of varied legislations (AOC, AOP, IGP...), the “terroii” concept is still vague. Terroif product valorisation stays a problem while many SMEs are capable of entering the market or of increasing their action in this opening market. If SMEs want to keep their competitive advantage in this market they must construct appropriate entry barriers. They must elaborate a collective strategy to promote and reinforce the links between quality - security - innovation - regional development, as well as their management skills to create value.

This article is based upon the idea that there does exist a practice of management of manpower in Small and Medium Sized Firms : it appears dependent, inscribes itself in the personal logic of the manager, and obeys proper strategic constraints.Such observation emphasizes the necessity of adopting a strategic practice of management of employment in Small and Medium-sized businesses, coherent with the personal aims of the firm manager on the one hand; in osmosis on the other hand, with the basic strategic orientations of the firm (competitive advantage by the costs on by the services), taking into account the constraints and uncertainty of the environment (state of vulnerability-dependence of the firm in its competitive environment).

Based on an analysis of the portfolios of horizontal alliances of about twenty cooperatives in western France, this article examines the role of these practices in the development of cooperatives and considers the issues and consequences of this “contractual growth” on the evolution of the configuration of cooperative structures. After identifying five types of portfolios and observing the structuring role of alliances in the development of cooperatives, the authors present four models of emerging configurations. While conventional analyses mainly focus on legal and financial aspects, this approach enables a dynamic and strategic vision of the forms of expansion of cooperative groups.
