AbstractIn this conversation with Marcelo Otero that explores the context of relationships between sociology and Michel Foucault, Jean-François Laé presents some of the keys to a better grasp of the misunderstandings and a certain side-lining of the latter in the discipline (in France). He addresses the gap between the case study in the author's work and in sociology, the disciplinary mechanisms and micro-powers, and the theoretical contrasts. He then explains his own use of Foucaldian concepts in his various works, from ‘L'instance de la plainte' to ‘L'ogre du jugement', from ‘Fracture sociale' to ‘Lettres perdues' — revealing an underlying heritage, attraction to illegalities in the relationship to law, anonymous and mysterious lives, murmuring writings.

AbstractOver the past few years, many male novelists have given a voice to a female narrator. Is the female voice being hijacked, or is this a sign of a new openness to the other? Through the study of four recent novels by four different novelists (“Marie Auger,” Gilles Archambault, Jacques Poulin, Maxime Mongeon), this article examines the paradoxes and multiple aspects of a textual practice that is radical in that it challenges the watertight separation between the sexes that is the basis of our social organization and traditional symbolic values.

In 1920 André Breton and Philippe Soupault composed together S'il vous plaît, a comedy based on the codes of the Boulevard theatre. This play offers the opportunity to dissect the mechanisms at work in the rewriting of a genre of theatre associated with the bourgeois taste, during the first phase of application of the emerging surrealist literary devices. Through the analysis of the play and its variations, this article tries to highlight the bonds uniting surrealism and theatre, and the limits of these bonds.
