This essay gives an overview (not an extensive review) of the results which support the idea of a significant association between social relations and happiness. We present also some social emotions (love, empathy, compassion and smile) which make social life easier and had promoted the survival of our species during its evolution. We discuss the friendship – happiness association and few other social themes (social capital, social support and social resilience). Finally, we present some interventions promoting happiness via social relations.

Les récents développements concernant la nature du processus d’innovation nous ont amenés à vouloir mieux comprendre ce processus au sein des entreprises, en particulier chez les petites et moyennes entreprises (PME). Ces récents développements indiquent la nature interactive et ouverte de l’innovation qui est représentée par le modèle d’innovation ouvert, selon Chesbrough (2003a; b). Dans ce modèle, les entreprises dépensent peu en matière de R& D et sont néanmoins en mesure de réussir à innover : elles s’appuient en fait sur les connaissances et l’expertise d’un large éventail d’acteurs et de sources externes (Laursen et Salter, 2006). This article is part of the ongoing debate about the existence of an implicit social clause within the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) and the law of the World Trade Organization (WTO). The article highlights the difficulties of complying with the requirement of "necessity" of Article XX (a) and XX (b) of the GATT, which any trade restrictive measures aimed at eradicating child labor would face. To this end, the article relies on the jurisprudence of the Dispute Settlement Body of the WTO and takes into account the position of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and United Nations Fund for Childhood (UNICEF) on trade sanctions and child labor. The analysis is complemented by the results of a field study conducted by the author in Ecuador on hazardous child labour in the flower industry and the potential effects of trade sanctions on minors.
