Experiments were carried out in order to investigate the response of reinforced concrete bridge pier caps. The six specimens were tested in order to study the influence of the geometry of the pier caps, the amount and distribution of uniformly distributed reinforcement in the pier caps and the details of anchorage of the reinforcement.
