Natural gas is one of the world’s major energy sources and the demand has increased remarkably in recent years. The production of natural gas often requires treatment processes in order to separate CO2 and H2S. CO2 must be removed in order to meet the heating value specifications for sales gas, whereas H2S is removed due to its toxicity and to reduce the overall release of SO2 into the atmosphere during combustion. This thesis looks at how Facebook (FB) facilitates the transformation of micro-celebrities such as Pakistani social media micro-celebrity Qandeel Baloch, into embodiments of notoriety, and examines the mechanism through which the newly acquired fame destroys them. Predicated on the shifts and changes in celebrity culture in general, the microcelebrity model constructed in this thesis, reveals how online self-presentation, facilitated by FB, has evolved into a set of behaviors, or celebrity performative practices, driven by self-importance and narcissism, resulting in the rapid proliferation of fame to non-exceptional people on FB. Psychological stress injuries (PSIs) among Canadian paramedics and police continue to rise despite expanded research, funding, and mental health programming. This study explores this paradox through an institutional policy lens, drawing on qualitative data from semi-structured interviews with frontline and leadership personnel in public safety organizations. Findings reveal that entrenched institutional norms such as quasi-military organizational cultures, stigma surrounding mental health, and resistance to change undermine the effectiveness of PSI interventions. Rather than replacing outdated practices, new policies and resources are frequently layered onto existing structures, leading to fragmented and insufficient responses. The purpose of this research study is to investigate my own teaching practices and methods as an in-school mentor. This paper uses self-study as the research methodology in order to explore my teaching practices as I serve in the role of in-school mentor for third year pre-service teachers. Data, from my researcher’s logbook, a non-mandatory, self-administered e-mail survey sent to all pre-service teachers involved in the intervention project, and the perspectives of self-selected critical friends are presented.
