Cet article examine le système terminologique crow des Diî de l'Adamaoua. Bien que patrilinéaires. les Diî ont un système terminologique normalement associé à un régime matrilinéaire. Cette exception s'explique très bien en fonction des coutumes dii. mais elle ne s'explique pas par la théorie anthropologique générale. Cependant, une analyse qui concilie la théorie dîi. la théorie générale et le contexte régional rend compte de tous les faits qui confirment la théorie générale et font des Dii une simple variation locale d'un schème plus orthodoxe.

This article examines thé Crow terminological System of thé Dii of Adamawa. Albeit patrilineal. thé Diî hâve a kinship terminological System normally associated with a matrilineal régime. This exception is easily explained by thé Dii in relation to their marriage customs but it does not make sensé in view of thé generally accepted anthropological theory. An analysis which takes into account thé Dîi theory. thé général theory and thé local context makes sensé of ail thé facts which confirm thé général theory and put thé Dii as a simple local variation of a more orthodox schème.
