Biographical notes
Yulia Toman is a digital creator, producer, and film critic. She studied media studies at the European Humanities University (Lithuania) and film studies at the University of Gdańsk (Poland). She is currently based in Lisbon, Portugal.
Felix Helbing is a PhD candidate at the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures. He is currently finishing a dissertation on Soviet labor theorist Aleksei Gastev that examines the intersection of technology and the body as envisioned within Gastev’s utopia of mechanized collectivism. Felix’s additional research interests include the philosophical writings of Aleksandr Bogdanov, digital media—especially video games—and, more recently, industrialization and the body in Tolstoy’s late work.
