The territory represents the duality between man and nature, mixing subjective and objective elements. For some authors, this polysemic notion makes less and less sense and should be abandoned. We propose on the opposite to deepen the analysis of this territorial complexity. To do so, this paper explores two complementary theses. On a theoretical basis, we define the territory as a socio-patrimonial system: an interactional nexus between social relations and what we call patrimonial relations (links to natural and cultural heritage). On a practical basis, we operationalized this definition through a model entitled the Actor in 4 Dimensions (A4D) which examines relations between humans and relations to non-humans on a specific area. The A4D leads to territorial footprints for each actor of the area, a synchronic radiography of their social and patrimonial links. This analytical model is a vector of data on the actors and of dialog between them; it can be of interest for researchers, mediators, administrators and for territorial actors themselves. Our results show that social relations depend on the context in which they are anchored and that man and nature relationships exist through social links. In order to decrypt what a territory is, this socio-patrimonial nexus should be more deeply decorticated by studying the attaches between nature and culture.

This article is an effort to conceptualize the subject-entrepreneur, carried out from a field research in Cameroon. If it emerges in a precarious environment, this subject seems to preserve certain specificities that distinguish it from the forms of entrepreneurs known until then and emerging actors revealed by the literature. Presenting itself initially as an individuality in constant process, the entrepreneur-subject is gradually built as an individual-subject-actor who informs the social transformations behind the scenes while offering a new material to the new sociologies of the subject.

This article is the result of the encounter of two researchers coming from different backgrounds –one in Anthropology and the other in cinema- and of their reflections on the development of a research partnership with Indigenous communities in Brazil and Canada. Their main goal is to foster an ongoing dialogue about their collaborative work in terms of participatory approaches. Their objectives, often held commonly, also attest to the difference in their approaches, hence the importance of the comparative dimension adopted throughout this article. The creation, here in cinema, is a tool of cultural transmission where members of Indigenous communities are the actors and authors of their performances.

Based on a case study, conducted in collaboration with a French agency over a period of two years, this research studies the role played by actors in the construction of a new management control device. By associating the creation process of a control management tool to a managerial innovation process, this research reveals on factor of success of implementation process within public organization: the creation and the stabilization of a new social space.

AbstractThe type of trade unionism that was developed during the twentieth century has become gradually less and less adapted to fit the new conditions of work and employment, resulting in an erosion of the rights of labour. In order to understand this phenomenon, the author compares the making and development of the category of employment, in the USA and France, and its distinct meanings in the two countries. These meanings can be seen to be related to each other in the light of the organization of the enterprise – the latter giving rise to the renewal of union practices. Such practices flow both from the action of the labour movement and management organization. It is important to assess the relative importance of both in these new practices.
