AbstractThe literature indicates that income inequality measures have been developed since the 70's. In order to apprehend the underlying components of the inequality measures, it is necessary but not sufficient to study overall incomes. In this respect, decomposing inequality indices by income source is welcome. The methodology brings out new statistical indices, for which it is possible to analyze factor components (wages, fringe benefits, taxes, pensions, etc.), correlations between the income sources and the ranks of individuals within the society, and the contribution of each source in the mean income. The paper draws an analysis of the Gini decomposition by income source, the debates between researchers, and the development of the decomposition technique, starting from the concept of pseudo-Gini to that of extended Gini. The last approaches of the literature are exposed in order to point out the possibilities of generalization, using either econometric models or the Shapley value.

Series and video games are two media that express themselves through distinct grammars. While both forms of expression draw inspiration from cinema in terms of staging, they differentiate themselves through unique narrative structures and an unprecedented relationship to fictional elements. As the overlap between the worlds of series and video games intensifies, recent examples like the series Arcane (Christian Linke, Alex Yee, 2021) have showcased the potential for skillfully translating complex video game universes into captivating serialized narratives. These adaptations reflect the evolution of the film, series, and video game industries, as well as their growing influence on contemporary culture. From the initial unsuccessful adaptation of Super Mario Bros (Rocky Morton, Annabel Jankel 1993) to the brilliant achievements of the 2020s, a process of recognition and understanding of these distinct media has emerged, giving rise to rich works with skillful points of connection between games and video. Let us explore the elements that ensure a successful adaptation of a video game into a series, one that convinces viewers, critics, and players.
