This reflection leans on the report of a movement of the center of gravity of the museums from the collector’s items towards the visitors. This passage is both marked by the increase and the diversity of the forms of the participation of the publics within the institution. The concept of mediation suggests a holistic approach which welcomes under its dome a constellation of practices, considering all the museum functions and all the dimensions - physiological, emotional, playful and cognitive - of the real-life museum experience before, during and after the visit in the real or virtual space. However, the definitional fuzziness which characterizes cultural mediation in museum environment makes difficult its effectivness. For that reason, it requires a theoretical support allowing better framing of the strategies of intervention with the publics. So here’s the question: are theoretical approaches applied in education sciences, in particular constructivism and the socioconstructivism, facilitating the normalization of the practices of mediation in museum environment without corrupting its nature?

The Lyons' Musée des Confluences successfully launched in 2009 a series of public debates in association with Oullins' Théâtre de la Renaissance and Sens Public. AbstractFranz von Baader, “the romantic philosopher par excellence”, saw his own Lectures on Religious Philosophy of 1827 as the “logical” entrance into his system of thought. The author of this article attempts a thorough commentary of that difficult and disconcerting text, in which he sees Franz von Baader's theory of knowledge expressed in those lectures as a powerful return to Aquinas's epistemology in the face of the Kantian critique. Baader's profound originality stems from the theosophical frame into which he sets his reading of Aquinas, confronting it to Jacob Boehme's Trinitarian vision in particular.

This article discusses the patterned differences among immigrant groups in their forms of entry and labour market incorporation. The view advanced here revolves around the concepts of different modes of structural incorporation and of the immigrant enclave as one of them. These concepts are set in explicit opposition to two previous viewpoints on the adaptation process generally identified as assimilation theory and the segmented labour markets approach. This discussion then, represents a significant advance from earlier undifferentiated descriptions of the adaptation process. The typology presented here however, constitutes a provisional effort. Just as detailed research on the conditions of particular minorities has replaced earlier broad generalizations, the propositions advanced here will require revision. New groups arriving in the United States at present and a revived interest on immigration should provide the required incentive for empirical studies and theoretical advances in the future.

This article is an attempt to investigate the various meanings of the words « postmodernity », « postmodernism » and « postmodern ». It also assesses the significance of these words and of the concepts that they express for criminology. The paper is divided in three parts. The first part tries to dispell important misunderstandings that have sprung in relation to postmodernisrn. The most significant of these is the belief that there is such a thing as a postmodernist « method » in the social sciences. The second part identifies the origin of the term « postmodern » and discusses various themes which are perceived to be characteristic of postmodern thought. These themes are : the present legitimation crisis, the internal reflexivity of scientific theory, discourse analysis and meta-language, social and cultural fragmentation and historical pessimism. The last part draws the consequences of the preceding analyses for the development of criminology.
