The Lethbridge Project looks at both the city and nature, and at their transformations. Geoffrey James evokes the way in which landscape, whether in the heart of the city or in the suburbs, is inhabited and arranged. He then relates the circumstances, both deliberate and chance, that brought him to produce his previous photographic projects about cultural landscapes.

Since 1995, Guy Lafontaine has been working on a series of photographs examining transitional zones on the border of residential and industrial districts, mainly in neighbourhoods on the outskirts of Montreal. With this photographic research, Lafontaine has built a documentary repertory and samples a cartography of contrasts that reveals the organized chaos between habitat and industry.
