Abstract
Most of mentalization measures are complex, they require extensive training, and the administration/rating is time-consuming, all of which limit their application. The aim of the paper is to present the Mental States Task (MST; Beaulieu-Pelletier, Bouchard, & Philippe, 2013), an innovative practical instrument developed in order to avoid those limits (no coding and easy administration) and which has the advantage to be adapted to different domains of investigation and psychological issues. The MST assesses mental states via the quality of mental elaboration and openness toward subjective experience.
