At the end of the 1990s, Criminologie switched to a digital format, one of the first scholarly journals in Quebec to make this change. This paper provides a general overview of usage patterns for the journal, based on an analysis of 858,894 downloads extracted from the Érudit platform server logs between 2010 and 2015. In general, readership seems well established, with the majority of users in North America and Europe. The growing importance of the Érudit platform for research as well as the positive effect on research dissemination of the removal of the journal's paywall are noteworthy. We found large differences in the distribution of articles and themed issues, with a small number of articles and themed issues accounting for a substantial part of the total journal downloads. Finally, keyword analysis of the downloaded articles revealed the importance of local concerns as well as native issues.

Old Crow, a small Vuntut Gwich'in community in the Yukon's far north, is situated on a vast territory shared by a diverse population. Among its inhabitants is the wolf, a ruthless strategist. Hard to track in the bush, wolves are equally elusive in the stories humans tell of them. And yet they appear in many guises, provided the researcher lets go of preconceived ideas. A flexible and open approach matters all the more since wolves, as very careful animals, do not show themselves. What is at stake, then, is an ethnography of individuals with a radical alterity and inclined to remain invisible. Working with feeling becomes necessary here, at the crossroads of the human and the animal, the tangible and the intangible. This ethnographic experience takes us into a world without words, yet rich in meaning and information.

The Henan Mongolian Autonomous County is a multi-ethnic area, straddling the Sino-Tibetan cultural border. Despite being officially recognised as “Mongolian,” the most widely used language in the county is Amdo Tibetan. The Tibetan language is still enjoying a high degree of vitality in the county, although the recent arrival of Chinese-speaking people has led to the Chinese language becoming more visible and audible, mainly within the county's administrative centre of Youganning. Based on research conducted in 2020–2021, this article explores the linguistic landscape in Henan County, which has not been studied before. This analysis provides sharp insights into the power relations between languages and their speakers in the Chinese context.
