AbstractFrom the point of view of research in the field of mass communication, the cosmopolitical question finds a broader importance, for it sets politics around two main relations : the relation between individuals and plurals on the one hand, and the relation between local and global on the other hand. In Habernas' perspective these relations can be transliterated into two main political axis : action and communication. This article offers a distinction between both concepts which sets the basis for a cosmopolitical conception of non-national institutions, from which the case of the war in Iraq can eventually be analysed.

Abstract This article seeks to examine if gender exercises an influence on opinions regarding the roles of women and men in politics. In January of 1993, a questionnaire was distributed to francophone political scientists who graduated recently from one of six Canadian universities included in the study. Although some sexist prejudices persist among the young female and male professionals of our field, both sexes also expressed opinions considered compatible with a more active role for women in politics in future years.

AbstractA rigorous analysis of major theological expressions in Africa — actions and texts of bishops, written declarations of Episcopal conferences, coalitions of Christian Churches, works of certain African theologians —, shows that there is a political theology in Africa. This is expressed on one hand, in the form of sociopolitical critique of unjust systems and on the other, in the form of proposal of an alternative vision of humanity and the society based on faith in the Trinitarian God. However, in the present context of reconstruction, this theological reflection can be prolonged through the integration of a new perspective, namely, the political combat of a Church that considers the political community not as an enemy but as a partner for social construction or reconstruction.
